WASTE AND LIVELIHOOD
It’s the realization of Evamor Africa that waste in the current world, especially in least developed countries, is considered a menace despite its vast potential as an economic stimulus and catalyst. The headache in waste management can be attributed to several factors, including but not limited to a lack of awareness about the potential of waste, misplaced priorities regarding a country’s economic stimuli, limited capacity among relevant actors on waste-to-wealth techniques, insufficient budgetary allocation to manage and capitalize on waste potential, and a lack of collective interest and goodwill to venture into waste exploration.
While the least developed countries grapple with these challenges, the developed world has recognized and explored waste potential as a key economic pillar. They are mitigating the myriad catastrophes and risks associated with poor waste management. Evamor Africa, therefore, seeks to borrow from these best practices to address several societal problems in informal settlements, such as youth unemployment, waste and health risks, and environmental degradation.

Additionally, Evamor Africa aims to tackle the effects of climate change, which have ravaged and made life difficult for vulnerable groups and communities. By leveraging the potential of waste management, we hope to create sustainable solutions that benefit both the environment and the economy.
